My interests are wide and varied: natural health for both people and pets, network marketing, crocheting, and Bible study, among others.
Over the years, I've worked in many different jobs, the latest being the office manager for a local embroidery shop. Other positions include managing a greenhouse/nursery operation, a stint as a veterinary assistant, and working in a nursing home as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I've owned several home-based business as well. At present, I'm returning to my writing, and getting started with network marketing.
I've lived in many places over the course of my life. I started out in upstate New York, where I grew up. Life led me to Tennessee, where I lived near an Amish community for several years. I had many Amish friends, and I did quite a bit of driving for them.
Before that, I lived in South Dakota, where I had chickens, a few pigs, a flock of sheep, and a dairy goat named Sapphire. That wasn't enough to keep me busy, I guess, as I grew a large garden, and canned and froze anything that wouldn't run away. Baking bread, making goat milk cheese, and dabbling in soapmaking, spinning, and weaving rounded out my activities on the homestead.
For now, I've retired from keeping critters, other than our three kitties. I do miss having chickens, but we live in town now, so no hens for us! Visiting with the baby chicks at the local farm supply store, while daydreaming about moving out in the country again some day is as close as I come to homestead life any more.
My husband and I currently make our home in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We love the Northwoods, and we enjoy canoeing, fishing, hiking, and camping.
We're owned by three cats: Winston, Kizzie, and Nuge, who definitely keep things interesting around here.
